Before you claim
We understand that making a claim can be stressful, which is why we’re here to support you and guide you through the process. Contact us as soon as possible, when it is safe to do so, if you’re involved in an accident or need to report a claim.
Before you claim, you should have the following to hand:
- Car registration number.
- Policy number.
- All relevant information about the incident.
Windscreen or glass claim
Windscreen or glass claim – Comprehensive
Windscreen cover is included within your Comprehensive cover, if your windscreen or glass has been damaged.
Refer to your policy booklet for contact details of your approved windscreen or glass repair or replacement provider, including full terms and conditions.

If your car has been stolen
If your car has been stolen, you will need to call the police and get a crime reference number (you’ll need this number when you make a claim).
You should then call our Claims team on 0344 576 1617, who can progress your claim.

What to do if you're involved in an accident
Handy tips to help you if you’re involved in an accident
- Stop as soon as possible in a safe place.
- Switch off the engine and turn on the hazard lights.
- If you have a warning triangle, place it well before the obstruction.
- Check for any injuries and call the police or ambulance service where necessary.
- Make a quick sketch of the direction and final position of each vehicle if you can.
- Take photos if you can. Try and take photos to support the positions of the vehicles and the extent of the damage.
Make a note of the:
- The vehicle registration number, name, address and telephone number of any other drivers involved in the accident.
- The number of passengers in each vehicle.
- The name and address of anyone who is injured (or suggesting they have been injured).
- The name, address and telephone number of any witnesses to the accident.
- Name, telephone number and constabulary of any police officer who attends the accident.
When you’re involved in an accident you must provide your own details to anyone else involved that requests them.
Do not accept blame for the accident, simply provide your details, along with your policy number to the other drivers and persons involved in the accident.
